The government has launched a pilot for the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIMIS), that will contain biometric data of citizens and foreigners living in Kenya. The pilot program targeting 15 counties has been launched today in Nyandarua County.
The government has launched a pilot for the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIMIS), that will contain biometric data of citizens and foreigners living in Kenya.
For each registration, the National Integrated Identity Management Systems will generate a unique ID number to be known as Huduma Namba.
The pilot program targeting 15 counties has been launched today by PS interior Dr. Karanja Kibicho in Nyandarua County.
To register for the #HudumaNamba you need either of the following identification documents: – ID, Birth certificate or Driving license – One must be present at the registration centers for Biometrics.
The registration exercise for the pilot will run for 30 days only.
The government has announced that once the programme is officially launched nationally, Kenyans who will not be registered in the National Integrated Identity Management Systems will be denied crucial government services.
