Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o is among five members expelled from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

ODM’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on Wednesday expelled MPs Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Caroli Omondi (Suba South) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda on grounds of  “violating the ODM party Constitution and the Political Parties Act 2011 by openly associating with and supporting activities of a rival political outfit, as well as opposing lawful decisions made by party organs”.

Jalang’o the latest expulsion from the ODM party

Jalang’o, who has in the past received criticism from leaders and supporters of ODM for aligning more with the Kenya Kwanza government and at some point was once barred from attending an ODM meeting, responded to the party expulsion with a bible verse.

“No trial is too heavy to lift! No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Corinthians 10:13,”

Senator Ojienda on his part claimed that ODM expelled him for working with President Ruto.

“My party has today expelled me for working with President William Ruto. I have no apology and will continue to work with the President,” Ojienda said on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Rongo MP Paul Abuor and his Uriri counterpart Mark Nyamita, were fined Ksh.1 million each with the payment to be made within 60 days.
