“There is nothing serious at all, the doctors said I was suffering from dehydration and that was all.”
Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga has assured his supporters that he is fit following his brief hospitalization at the Mombasa hospital yesterday.
Raila, who addressed the press after his discharge maintained that there is no cause for alarm it was just dehydration.
“There is nothing serious at all, the doctors said I was suffering from dehydration and that was all. All my other indicators are very good, I have been discharged to go back to Nairobi and to campaign, I am as fit as a fiddle,” said Odinga.
According to a brief released yesterday by the former prime minister’s aid Salim Lone, Odinga had complained of feeling slightly unwell while at the Mombasa Airport to take a flight back to Nairobi and his colleagues, who were with him, including Mr Kalonzo Musyoka, Mr Musalia Mudavadi, Mr Moses Wetangula and Senator James Orengo decided that it was best that a doctor examined him before he took the flight to Nairobi.
Odinga Out of Frame?
Odinga has in the past suffered some health scares and after yesterday’s episode one might just be tempted to think what he suffered was fatigue especially considering that he is not a young man and one Kenya Forum reader joked; “the rate at which Baba has been dancing in campaigns is no joke” for a man his age.
In 2014, in an article titled RAILA ODINGA: IN THE USA FOR GOOD OR ILL? The Kenya Forumexpressed skeptism on whether the former premier had indeed gone to the USA to study and give a lecture at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs or he was there for medical reasons?
In 2010 Odinga also underwent a head surgery at the Nairobi, an operation that kept him out of office for a month.
